Solar panel output (PV)

How well solar panels will generate: strong, clear sunshine with the sun high in the sky; heavy cloud and snow cover cut output. Uses measured solar irradiance when available, otherwise cloud cover. data.solar_energy_kwh_m2 is the expected energy per square metre (peak sun hours).

Small wind turbine output

How well a small wind turbine will generate: a steady 18 to 55 km/h breeze is best; calm air produces little and storm gusts trigger cut-out. Uses 10 m wind; hub-height wind is usually stronger.

Field service and engineering

Engineers and technicians working outdoors (telecoms, utilities, HVAC, EV charger and solar installs): lightning and storms, wind on ladders and masts, ice, cold and heat stress.

Roofing and work at height
